Dental implants consist of two parts, an artificial tooth root that is implanted into the jaw bone and a replacement tooth which is put on top of the artificial tooth root in order to restore the area where the tooth is missing.  A replacement tooth is attached to the root portion of the implant once it is stable in the jaw bone approximately three to six months following its placement.  Implants can be used to replace single or multiple missing teeth.  They can also be used to support partial and full dentures.  There are great benefits to having dental implants.  Some of the great advantages of having dental implants are improved comfort, improved esthetics, improved ability to eat, tooth and bone preservation and confidence.  Overall, dental implants can significantly improve your quality of life.
